Welcome to Anthony’s in Oakville!
Anthony’s was established in 1985 in the Town Plot section of Waterbury, Connecticut. As the business grew, we relocated three times in that very same neighborhood before moving to Oakville, Connecticut.
After many attempts at making the right sauce and perfecting our dough, we finally succeeded, but not without the help of family and friends. One friend in particular, Emmanuel “Sonny” Diorio, was a well known chef in the area. Sonny worked in the “best of the best” restaurants around town before going on to open his own “Faces” restaurant in Waterbury, and later “Emmanuel’s” in Middlebury, CT.
Anthony’s was started by Ron Pruchnicki Sr. whose life long dream was to open his own pizzeria using top shelf ingredients to custom make perfect pies. Along with his children, Ron Jr. and Carrie, his dream became a reality. Ron Sr. passed away in May 2012, but his legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and dedicated staff.
Anthony’s offers a variety of crusts and toppings to make each pizza to your liking. Customers can specify thick crust, medium crust, or our most popular thin crust and also let us know if you like your pizza golden, crispy, or well-done.
A few of our most popular pies include our fresh native tomato and basil, clam, sausage, and everyone’s favorite old fashioned mozzarella. For starters we offer a variety of appetizers and fresh salads including fresh mozzarella and tomato and our famous antipasto large enough to share!
To finish off, try one of our incredible desserts from sorbets to lava cake to tarturo and even ice cream from the local Big Dipper. Anthony’s also has a full service bar serving seasonal beers on tap as well as mixed drinks.
